Cedar Point Beach
The beach at “America’s Roller Coast” in Sandusky is a bit of a hidden gem. People far and wide have heard of the amusement park, but many don’t know about the beach.
It’s a beautiful, well-maintained area that’s just right for a day trip. There’s a lot to do, including jet ski rentals and sand volleyball courts.

Fairport Harbor Lakefront Park
East of Cleveland, in Fairport Harbor, you’ll find this 20-acre park that features a lovely family beach. You can also picnic, canoe, and check out the lighthouse and maritime museum.

Edgewater Park Beach
You wouldn’t expect to find a 900-foot stretch of sandy beach right in the heart of Cleveland, but it’s there and it’s worth a trip. With a couple of picnic pavilions and play areas for the kids, you’ll get one of the best views of the city. It’s also the perfect spot to take in the 4th of July fireworks.

Headlands Beach State Park
The largest natural sand beach in the state is located in Mentor. You’ll find the usual picnic facilities, a lighthouse at the end of the beach, a concession stand, and plenty of restrooms.

Huntington Beach Park
This popular beach is located in Bay Village, just west of Cleveland and is part of the Metroparks. It’s a beautiful location with both plenty of grass and sandy beach. There’s a spot for fishing, too.
